So, as 2018 starts I made a list of things to do this year. And since it was winter and i was knitting like crazy, my list contains mostly of knitting projects. And the one that i loved most was terrace wrap by purl soho.
I loved this simple knotted lace stitch. It's a three stitch repeat easy to keep you interesting. And whenever you pick up your project you don't have to think where you left it. It have a great drape. Its textured, sooo comforting to touch that it will make you want to hug it.
Surprisingly, baby news start to bloom all around me. It looks like everyone suddenly want to have a baby in their things to do this year list. So Its gonna be a very busy year of knitting for me.
The first project I picked was a baby summer shawl for my upcoming niece or nephew. Since the due date is in june, I wanted it to be light, lacy and fast to knit. I was reluctant to try 15 or so rows lace pattern since knitting a shawl is so tiring just to think of so many work hours it takes to complete. I pick this knotted lace stitch that i was dying to use.
Final measurement is 42×42 inches. I used egg white, a little shiny, one ply yarn. And 4mm knitting needle so it will knit fast. The shawl turned out to be so lacy, I feared baby fingers will get tangled in the open-work. So I use two threads simultaneously. The stitch was fun to knit. Any loose stitch or glitch was picked up pretty easily thanks to the three stitch repeat pattern. So it turn out pretty neat. Its lacy without burning your brain. Perfect to lift your moral making you want to knit more and more. And viola, before you know it you are finished. Yeah for slow knitter and beginners.

PATTERN
Very easy
Stitch use: knit purl yo stitch drop
500 gm of 1 ply yarn. It's a LOT of yarn believe me
4mm circular knitting needles
Two sitch markers
Knotted lace stitch
Knit 3, pick the first stitch on the left needle and drop it down after crossing over the next two stitch. Yo.
DIRECTIONS
Cast on 165 stitches
For row 1-19 do garter stitch (knit on both sides)
Row 20. Knit 12 place sitch marker (this is side border) * knit 3, pick the first stitch crossing over the next two stitch, drop it, yo. This is the knotted lace pattern. repeat till last 12 stich which is the border *place stich marker Knit these 12 stitches.
Row 21 and all the odd rows. Knit 12, purl 141, knit 12
Row 22. Knit 12( border) knit 1 *repeat the knotted lace pattern* knit 13
Row 24. Knit 2 * repeat knotted lace pattern* knit 12
Repeat rows 20 – 25. 40 times or until it measures 38 inch
Knit 20 rows in garter stitch, binding off at 20th row.
Block. Enjoy hugging it before giving it to the precious baby.
