FREE PATTERN FOR FINGERLESS MITTS
Small circulars needles or DPNS(4) 3mm
Yarn 1 skein
CUFF
CO 24 . Join to make a circle. Place marker.
Make ribbing as K1, P1. Continue till you reach 1 1/2 inch in length.

THUMB GUSSET
Change to stockinette stitch.
Row 1: knit
Row 2: just after the marker make 1 (m1), knit 12, m1, make 12
Row 3: and all the odd rows knit
Row4: just after the marker m1, knit 1, m1, place second marker, knit 25. You have increased 2 stitches within the markers
Row 6: m1, knit 3, m1, knit 25
Row8: m1, knit 5, m1, knit 25
Row 10: m1, knit 7, m1, knit 25
Row 12: m1, knit 9, m1, knit 25
Row 14: m1, knit 11, m1, knit 25
Row 16: m1, knit 13, m1, knit 25
Row 18: m1, knit 15, m1, knit 25

MAIN BODY
Row 20: remove the marker, knit 1, put the next 13 stitches on a spare needle, co 1, knit 1, remove marker, knit the rest. Now you have 13 on a spare for thumb gusset and 28 on the working needles. Work the main body in stockinette stitch for 1 1/2 inch more. Make 1 inch of ribbing (knit1, purl1). Bind off.
THUMB
Work on the 13 stitches, m1, join in a circle ( now tie the lose end of the working yarn with yarn just after the last stitch to prevent hole). You have 14 stitches. Place marker.
Knit the next row with knit 2 together the last and first stitch. Repeat. You will now have 12 stitches.
Make 3 rows of ribbing (K1, p1). Bind off.
Sew in the ends. Block.
